Shift Your Viewpoint

Shift Your Viewpoint was a luxury experiential dining event developed to elevate Arizona Snowbowl’s summer programming and introduce a more upscale guest experience at the resort. The concept combined fine dining, scenic views, and a unique on-mountain setting to create an immersive culinary experience unlike anything else offered at the resort.

I conceived, developed, and coordinated the event in partnership with Shift Kitchen & Bar, a well-known Flagstaff restaurant recognized for its modern, upscale approach to cuisine. Together we created a five-course tasting menu with curated wine pairings, served entirely within the resort’s moving gondola cabins.

Guests boarded the gondola and enjoyed a new course and wine pairing during each ascent of the mountain, allowing them to experience the meal while continuously overlooking the San Francisco Peaks. The format created a seamless dining experience where guests remained inside the gondola cabins while courses were served as the cabins passed through the terminal.

As the lead coordinator, I managed the partnership between the restaurant and Arizona Snowbowl, serving as the primary point of contact for both organizations throughout planning and execution. The event required extensive logistical coordination across multiple resort departments, including operations, food & beverage, and leadership teams, as well as close collaboration with Shift’s executive chefs and management team.

The Shift team prepared the menu on-site while resort staff served each course inside the gondola cabins as they cycled through the terminal. The event successfully introduced a new level of culinary programming to the resort and generated strong local interest along with national media coverage, positioning Arizona Snowbowl as a destination for innovative mountain experiences.
